I made this album between online sessions of recording noisy improvisations together with a friend who lives down south. I wanted to get back to more immediate and lo-fi production methods so I just used a crappy Sony walkman to record songs on the instrumentation I had lying around from playing with my friend. It's a disparate mix of noise tracks, cruddy playing on a homemade guitar I found in a thrift store, pop songs with some annoying lyrics recorded through a toy microphone and electronic tracks made on an Electribe 2. Oh and quite a lot of tape manipulation, pause button editing and so on. I used to make pop cassettes on my dad's Grundig tape player which had a cruddy condenser microphone, so this was a way of getting back into that spontaneous form of recording.
